Tues., Oct. 24, 3pm: Wal-Mart Workers Speak Out
STITCH – http://www.stitchonline.org/index.asp – along with the Campaign for Labor Rights, and the International Labor Rights Fund are co-sponsoring the 2006 Wal-Mart Worker Tour, which will pass through the UT-Austin campus on October 24.
This special event will feature workers from Colombia, Nicaragua, China and the United States who are producing goods for Wal-Mart. Come hear workers share their personal stories and discuss how Wal-Mart’s business model impacts them, their families, their unions and the economies in their home countries. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion and questions from the audience.
