Art Reach Community Art Classes will be mixed ages & use the printmaking, puppet making, theater, & music workshop spaces located at the Rhizome Collective’s Center for Community Organizing. Artwork & performances made during these workshops will be exhibited & performed during cultural & musical events at the Rhizome Collective, in public spaces & for a community bicycle parade in May. Donations to Art Reach art classes & events help fund after school bike/art classes, and summer camp.

artists.
Class will begin with an introduction to theater &
explore student’s interests. Class topics will include
body expression, Cuban dance, singing & rapping,
creation & selection of texts and roles, stilts,
masks, theater design (costumes, makeup, set design,
and hair design).
Class time will also focus on the creation of
performances.

Lino Cut Print Making & Silk Screening
Tuesdays 7-9:30pm
Starting March 6 through May
Taught by Beth Ferguson
The Rhizome Collective printmaking workshop has a
printing press for lino-cut and wood cut prints as
well as large tables for students to work on for large
non press relief prints. The printmaking studio is
also set up for silk screening projects. Classes will
be held in both techniques and students will be able
to see demonstrations during the classes to decide
what mediums they want to explore. Some collective
tools will be available during class time as well as
recycled materials. A material list will be provided.
