Carlos Marroquin from Maya Pedal – http://www.mayapedal.org – will present on bicycle technology and sustainability efforts in Guatemala.

Started in 1997 in San Andrés Itzapa, Guatemala, Maya Pedal uses recycled bicycles to build pedal-powered machines such as bike-powered corn-grinders which help facilitate small-scale, self-sustainable projects. Through this work Maya Pedal contributes to the conservation of the environment, the health of the Guatemalan people, and the productivity and independence of the local economy.
