Texas has scheduled the execution of John Amador for the January 1994 murder of Reza Ayari on August 29.
The state of Texas should not execute Amador for his role in this crime. Executing Amador would violate the right to life as declared in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and constitute the ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment. Furthermore, Amador claims ineffective assistance of counsel during his initial trial and appellate proceedings.
