HOW WE SAVED KENNETH FOSTER, JR. AND HOW WE CAN END THE DEATH PENALTY !
Wednesday, September 19, 7:00 PM, UT Campus, NOA building room 1.126
Featuring:
Kenneth Foster Sr. (Kenneth’s dad)
Bryan McCann (CEDP member and pen pal of Kenneth)
– Plus video footage of Kenneth and of the movement over the summer
This is an open house designed for interested people to meet the folks involved in the successful struggle to save Kenneth Foster, Jr. from execution. Bring questions and ideas about how you can join with the Campaign to End the Death Penalty in our ongoing fight to stop all executions!
It is thanks to the hard work of a lot of people that this execution was stopped. It was a historic decision when the governor granted a commutation to a life sentence for Kenneth, something Perry has never done. Everything that went into the summer-long campaign for Kenneth made a difference, no matter how big or small. We have seen that when we work together, a vibrant and determined grassroots struggle can make a difference. We also know that we have lots of work ahead of us to stop the death penalty completely. With five executions scheduled in September alone, we need folks to get involved in this fight more than ever!
The NOA building is at the intersection of 27th St. and Wichita (3 blocks east of Guadalupe). See a map here: http://www.utexas.edu/maps/main/buildings/noa.html
