Austin Center for Peace and Justice Invites You to our Community Networking Brunch and Outreach Planning Meetings

Sat, Nov 17th, Central Presbyterian Church, 8th and Brazos Streets (enter from 8th Street in the center of the block – lots of parking on 9th street behind the church in its parking lot – bagels and coffee served!)

ACPJ’s monthly brunches create a space for Austin peace and justice groups and individuals to network. Please send someone from your group or come yourself prepared to speak for 3 minutes about your work. Each month we focus on one group or project with a 20 minute presentation.
All are welcome for networking, conversation, bagels, coffee and juice.

a) Networking Brunch 10-12

Our Monthly Networking Brunch, which will be held on November 17, 10am to Noon at Central Presbyterian Church (8th and Brazos). All individuals and groups are invited to share what is happening with them.

This month we will feature an update on the activities of the United Nations Association in Austin, by Judy Sadegh. No doubt, this will have many potential twists in the conversation – foreign policy, US involvement and you can think of a host of others.

In many ways our recent Saturday Brunches been like “think tanks.”

b) ACPJ Outreach Planning Meeting 12 Noon -to 1 PM:

You are invited to contribute ideas about how ACPJ can most positively impact the Austin community.

Who: Representatives from area community groups and any interested individuals to attend.

Include in the days’ discussion will be how to develop existing ACPJ programs and how to implement new suggestions for action that have come out of the previous ACPJ networking brunches.

Possible Topics include:

-a focus on development of an in-depth educational study and action-oriented activities For ACPJ to develop:
1) a speakers’ bureau,
2) improve our media relationships
3) creation of activist and non-violence workshops,
4) expansion of outreach to networking community groups
- and no doubt many other approaches.
