Red Salmon Arts presents a reading & celebration of Sinister Wisdom Journal #74: Latina Lesbians with artist/writers Anel Flores & Ana-Maurine Lara. This issue of Sinister Wisdom brings together the voices of 76 women born in 12 Latin Americancountries and the U.S.

Ana-Maurine Lara is an award winning novelist and playwright. Her poetry and short fiction has appeared in several literary journals including Blithe House Quarterly, The Encyclopedia Project, Sable LitMag and Torch Magazine. Ana-Maurine is a Cave Canem Fellow, a member of Stamp Lab theatre collective and of The Austin Project, a collaborative workshop between artists, activists and scholars out of UT-Austin.
Anel Ivonne Flores: Tejas-Chicana artist, teacher, and writer, holds her BA in English and Art from the University of Incarnate Word and her MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College in Vermont. Flores belongs to the Macondo Writer’s Workshop lead by author Sandra Cisneros. Her words have been published in various anthologies and literary journals, ALLGO’S anthology:ROOTED, the Lodestar Quarterly, iungo Arts Magazine, The Pitkin Literary Review, La Voz de Esperanza, Revolution: The Reclaiming of Tradition and Voice, Mother Tongues, along with many others. For the past ten years she has exhibited her oil paintings, chalk drawings, photography and silver jewelry nationally and locally.
