The white supremacist group the “National Socialist Movement” is planning to march on Waco on March 20. A growing list of progressive organizations around Texas are putting the call out to anyone interested in stamping out Nazism before it can establish roots.
The election of Barack Obama was an historic achievement in a country based on slavery and where racism still thrives. But even as a majority of voters elected an African-American president, a reactionary fringe has sought to take advantage of what they consider to be an organizing opportunity. The tea parties are one expression of this. The mobilization by far-right, neo-Nazi groups is another.
Anyone committed to a world free of discrimination and bigotry should stand together against this hatred. History shows that the time to organize against such forces is before they can gain a significant hearing. This is not a question of restricting free speech. We’re not calling for the march to be shut down by the city of Waco or by any governing body; we are calling on decent people to make their voices heard, to exercise their free speech and to send an unequivocal message that this fascist garbage has no place in our community.

Our understanding is that the Nazis are planning to march at 2 PM at the courthouse at 6th & Washington. But we are strongly encouraging anti-Nazi protesters to gather together at Heritage Sq. As the Nazis know they are not welcome anywhere they operate in secret as much as possible so stay tuned for more details. Be advised: All information subject to change!
