The event was organized by Texas State Employees Union and Texas Forward, an organization of more than 50 advocacy and social services organizations statewide. The Texas State Employees Union estimated that 6,000 to 7,000 people attended the march & rally. After the rally, participants met with their elected officials to advocate for their various issues. We were joined by our coalition partners from LULAC, the Green Party, and the Gray Panthers. Powerful arguments were made and will continue to be made most every Tuesday morning until we get the public hearing we are requesting. We are also requesting that voters have a choice this coming November of voting with a paper ballot and having it counted by hand by citizen counters in public view, or using a voting machine. All of 2009 I have been traveling. I basically, just got back to Austin and flipped on KUT feverishly looking for Paul Ray's program. Zip! Nada! Nothing! I did a Google search and find out that Paul and Larry's programs had been eviscerated. I am currently listening to Undercurrents their new program on KUT and it is 1 am in the morning. What drivel, what crap! And no playlist if you just might happen to like what they are playing. You got to go to Facebook. Like I want to be a member of Facebook. Being a music fan and collector of music both Larry and Ray's program helped me fill out the gaps in my collection and my repetoire by listening to their programs.
